These innocent looking velvet worms live in groups of upto 15 and hunt in packs with a hierarchy ruled by one dominant female (after a kill the dominant female feed first then the other females then the males and lastly the babies, sold in group of 3 coz best to keep them with others. They have a very unique way of catching prey in the form of shooting sticky glue trapping it and immobilising it as it hardens as the prey tries to escape so that they can then feed on it.

They are from a clade that has not changed in over 500million years and even stranger this species reproduces by the male depositing his spermatophores onto the females skin and with the help of her blood cells this stimulates localised breakdown of her skin so the sperm can pass into her body and migrate to her ovaries 😮

They live in a moist habitat and need to be kept cool, 22degrees or below.

Feed on crickets, isopods and other invertebrates.

Max size: 30mm

Sold in lots of 3.
